In what has proven to be an extremely testing and challenging 2020 for everyone, GEM Programmers have predominantly worked from home since the beginning of April. We are lucky in the sense that home working has worked perfectly well for all of us with minimal impact on overall productivity.
Making use of tools like MS Teams and Zoom has meant that we have been able to easily connect with each other and our internal or external teams on a regular basis. That said, face to face interaction with work colleagues is essential.
GEM will maintain our Alderley Park base in 2021, but lockdown has taught us that we can work perfectly well from home and we will be actively encouraging this on a more regular basis when the Covid-19 risks are lowered.
